Material Purchasing/Material Analyst

    The North American Company manufactures precision springs and

  precision stamped components.  It has 650 employees in U.S. and Mexico.

 

Description of Position:

  Responsibilities include

* Materials resource planning and ordering (steel, components, etc.)

 responsibility for Ohio plants.

* Assist in production planning

* Negotiating MRO contracts for two Ohio facilities, as well as one

Texas and one Mexican facility.

* Managing container logistics for Ohio facilities

 * Negotiating logistics contracts

* Managing outside service providers (e.g. heat treat, plating)

* Quoting material (steel), components, outside services for new

products.

* Implementing cost reduction projects.

* Special projects

 

Responsibilities may change subject to the company?s requirements.

    The position may involve some travel.

 

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

* Associate Degree or higher in a technical or business related

 field.

 * Ability to work with production and management.

* 1-4 years solid experience as a material analyst or production 

planner with manufacturing company, preferably in the automotive

   industry.

* Must have some MRP and logistics experience.

* Very strong analytical skills; good math skills.

* Strong computer skills and ability to develop Excel spreadsheets.

* Ability to read engineering prints.

* Strong oral and written communication skills

* Strong negotiation skills

 

Desired Qualifications:

* International logistics (e.g. ocean freight/containers) experience

   preferred.

* Technical knowledge of steel preferred.  Technical knowledge of

plastic components and heat treat a plus.

* SAP experience

 * TS16949 experience strongly preferred

 * Cost analysis experience

* Knowledge of manufacturing processes

* German or Spanish language skills
