Materials Analyst

Our client is a manufacturing facility located in the greater Columbia, South Carolina area.  They are expanding their facility and have a requirement for a material analyst.  They are well known and respected in their industry.

RESPONSIBILITY:
. Planning and order management activities, ensuring that all materials are ordered in time to meet all customer requirements.
. Scheduling and coordinating the movement of materials and the maintenance of acceptable inventory levels.
. Works closely with the Materials Manager to monitor Inventory levels and informs Management if potential shortage exists.
. Identifies excess/obsolete material and, as a member of the MRB, determine disposition.
. Utilizing the MRP system, works closely with Corporate Purchasing, Planning, PressRoom and site Management to ensure that customer orders are scheduled properly based on existing capacities and supplier lead times.
. Ensuring accuracy, verification and processing of all documentation and system transaction associated with all material movements.
. Ensures proper completion of all cycle counting activities.
. Utilizes Lean Manufacturing Concepts for all materials management activities . Ensures achievement of key performance targets. Monitors and reports results regularly
. Assists and be a back up to the Materials Manager on other duties within the department

REQUIREMENTS:
. BS in Business Administration or Industrial Engineering or equivalent
. Minimum three years experience in Materials management/Logistics position .
-Extensive knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
.Excellence Personal Computer skills.
-Good knowledge of Bill of Materials
.Be able to read Blue prints, Assembly drawings and specifications.
-Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Supply Chain concepts.
-Must be able to work without supervision and manage under stress to meet deadlines.
-Must demonstrate these Lean Behaviors ( Self Directed, Anticipatory, Follow-Through, Sense of Urgency, Tenacity and Attention to Details).
-Be able to learn and operate material handling equipment.
-Good written, verbal and facilitate skills.
- APICS Certification will be a plus.
