Materials Control Manager

Need a Materials Control Manager to independently plan, execute, control, and evaluate the acquisition and disposition of all raw and component parts relating to production and service. Maintain all inventories at the lowest possible level, support manufacturing without material outages, and ensure customer requirements are shipped on time without incurring obsolescence, excess freight costs, and material variances. Responsible for the release and delivery of all raw and component parts to material releases to suppliers based on MRP. Coordinate engineering changes to finished product and purchased components to ensure adequate flow of materials without incurring obsolescence. This includes contacting suppliers and customers to establish break points for shipments at new levels. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure cumulative data is correct for shipments/receipts, determine root cause and implement/suggest corrective actions. Initiate/prepare obsolescence claims for engineering changes and model year changes. Advise the Materials Manager of potential supplier delivery problems that may impact customer requirements. Required to notify Purchasing of problem suppliers to expedite resolution. Required to maintain and verify accurate raw and component material inventories. Required to participate in and support all new and service program launches. Expected to execute objectives and exhibit independent judgment/creativity with limited direction. Need experience with Word & Excel as well as MRP systems such as CMI or SAP. Must be attentive to detail. Support organizational objectives as defined by ISO 14000. Will work with Internal Customers such as Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Accounting and External Customers such as Suppliers and Vendors.
