Materials Planner

CITY: Fremont STATE: California COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Responsible for a broad range of planning functions, across all assembly and Wafer Fabrication operations. Principally this will be a material planning, coordination, communication, and analysis role.
* Direct Material Planning for several assembly product lines and wafer fabrication operations.
* Use Oracle's Planner Workbench (ASCP module) to plan direct material requirements on a daily basis.
* Contact suppliers to manage delivery receipts in support of production requirements.
* Review planning parameters to assure the right mix of stock to support short-cycle business requirements and customer stocking programs.
* Coordinate material flow to subcontract manufacturers in Korea and Thailand.
* Inventory Management: Improve cycle count programs and processes in Inventory locations.
* Assist in resolving cycle count issues, and fixing any related system problems.
* Analyze Inventory locations for slow moving Inventory and Identify inventory issues early.
* Oracle process expert: Review current issues with our recent Oracle Implementation and assist with problem resolution.
* Work closely with our Wafer Fabrication team to resolve OSFM module difficulties, transactional Issues, and report requirements.
* Coordinate and facilitate problem resolution with the Oracle team at headquarters.
* New Product Introduction: Key member of engineering to manufacturing transition team, designing material planning parameters and Oracle processes

Qualifications/Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Business or Industrial Engineering or related field (or high school diploma/GED and minimum 3 years experience in materials planning including use of the Oracle Manufacturing (MRP.ERPsystem)
* Minimum of 3 years experience as a planner in a complex manufacturing environment, preferably Electronics Industry production environment involving Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication.
* Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (word, excel, powerpoint) and PC based materials planning systems (e.g. Oracle)

Desired:
* Thorough understanding of MRP/ERP planning concepts using a known planning system. APICs certification and Oracle experience preferred.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as this position must work seamlessly with Customer Service and Production to coordinate the flow of critical materials for smooth sequenced release to production.
* Strong analytical capability using Excel and porting data with data base query software like Discover, Business Objects, and Guide.
* Demonstrated record of generating successful results and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
* Strong team player with the ability to work with multiple functions/departments in multiple locations to generate results.
* Six Sigma Quality experience (Green Belt Certified a plus)
