Materials Planning Manager

The Gear Pump Division of a Cleveland based global manufacturing company located in Youngstown, Ohio has an excellent opportunity for a Materials Planning Manager.  This position is responsible for analyzing, planning and managing the flow of materials to ensure they are provided according to schedule and the development and implementation of strategies to keep inventory at a minimum without compromising customer expectations. 

 

The Materials Planning Manager will: manage & prepare  inventory relating to records, tracking of materials, changing business activity, quality of materials and stocking levels; administer the development and implementation of an aggressive inventory reduction program; analyze production requirements based on immediate sales orders and short/medium term forecast; develop scheduling to establish sequence & lead times of manufacturing operations. 

 

Qualified applicants must have: a  bachelors degree in business, engineering or materials mgmt, APICS certification preferred;  a demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the job; a minimum of three years experience in a world class manufacturing environment; excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with all internal & external customers; must be an innovators and have strong knowledge of and experience in management, scheduling, purchasing and LEAN enterprise (pull systems, forecasting, Kanban, JIT).
