Mechanical Assembler

Performs assembly operations on AC and DC drive, diesel electric haul trucks ranging in size from 200 short tons to the "World's Largest Haul Truck" at 400 short tons of payload capacity.Assembles and troubleshoots equipment systems and assemblies. Inspects and tests assemblies for conformance to specifications. Reads and uses micrometers, pressure gauges, torque wrenches, feeler gauges, calipers, scales, tape measures, and other measurement devices.  Reads instruction prints, blueprints and, hydraulic schematics to plan assembly sequence of machinery as described, and in accordance to print specifications. Operates hand tools, portable powered hand tools, overhead cranes, electric hoists and other powered equipment during assembly process. Manually lifts parts or components, which includes standing, stooping and bending. Cleans, aligns and levels parts, inserting spacers and shims, sets clearance between parts; verifies alignment and clearance of parts, bolts cover plates, hydraulic pumps, etc. to machine frame. Installs hydraulic hose and tube assemblies, electrical wiring and, various components to mainframe of product. Prefer utilization of heavy equipment assembly or repair knowledge equivalent to two (2) years experience.
