Mechanical Technician - Day and Swing Shift

Varian Medical Systems has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Technician to perform final assembly, troubleshooting and repair of medical linear accelerators.  Qualified candidates will have an AA degree or equivalent technical training coupled with a minimum of 2 years of related (heavy machinery assembly) experience.  Use of common hand and power tools, overhead cranes, and measuring equipment is required, along with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.  Experience in methods and techniques used to build linear accelerators and a strong understanding of vacuum technology are highly desirable.  Automotive mechanical skills are also transferrable.  Computer knowledge and the ability to use MS Word and Excel for analysis, reporting, writing procedures, etc. is also desirable.  We are looking for motivated, responsible, flexible team members with strong verbal and written communication skills.
