Mgr II, Pilot Plant

Responsible for Technical Services pilot plant operation. The person will be responsible for the technology transfer project management, Technical Services internal project management, and cGMP pilot plant activities. The position is also responsible to drive and manage multiple novel and innovative internal and external global process development programs. Develop budget and manage the resource to support contract-manufacturing opportunities.
1) Provide supervision and career development for managers and staff. Manage, identify, hire, develop and recognize staff. Create and maintain employee and organizational development.

2) Develop strategic resource plan from multiple global locations as well as within the LA plant

3) Identify and assess new technologies/products.

4) Interface between R&D and manufacturing departments.

5) Interface between regulatory, quality, and manufacturing departments.

6) Acquire and review contract manufacturing opportunities and cost model development.

7) Enforce the use of Project management and DMAIC tools in all projects.


Qualifications

Management and supervisory experience/abilities required.
Proven track record of management/leadership effectiveness Knowledge of GMPs, FDA guidelines, purchasing practices and process validation.
Must be self-motivated, have good interpersonal skills, capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience.
Advanced degree on Science or Engineering, Ph.D. preferred.
Minimum 10 years experience of relevant experience in GMP/GLP environment.
Experience in technical staff management, resource and budget management. International/global setting experience is desirable.
