Perform required tear-down, set-up and start-up of jobs according to established procedures and guidelines on various size injection molding machines and their associated auxiliary equipment. Implement and document changes to processing parameters to achieve part quality and cost requirements. Identify and initiate necessary tool and machinery maintenance. Recommend changes required to part design, tool design or equipment capability to achieve acceptable quality and cost requirements. Perform all necessary quality requirements as prescribed in the Process Quality Report. Perform selected preventative maintenance tasks on injection molding machines, tooling, and auxiliary equipment. Maintain proper housekeeping practices and mold storage requirements. Maintain requirements of monitoring systems to assure proper control and accountability. Participate and offer input to corrective and preventive action and continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

Comprehensive knowledge and experience with thermal plastic and engineered resins used in injection molding. Comprehensive knowledge and experience with various types and sizes of injection molding machines to include mold set-up and processing. Experience in mold function and modifications required to achieve proper part requirements. Experience and ability to read part prints, determine critical part characteristics to assure proper processing and use an assortment of gages typical to part qualification. Experience and ability to use micro-processors and auxiliary personal computers. Experience and ability to perform basic mold and press maintenance and repair.
