Need a summer job? July and August workers needed in our Mounds View Distribution Warehouse

Do you still need a summer job?  Come to work in our Distibution/Shipping Warehouse for July and August!  We are located off of 35W and County Road 10, just north of 694.  Pay is $10.25 an hour plus a 50 cent shift differential for 2nd shift.  1st Shift hours are 5:15 am - 2:45 pm Monday through Friday; 2nd shift hours are 3:00 pm - 1:30 am Monday - Friday with Saturday's and overtime required.

 



PURPOSE

To pick and package TREND product for customer delivery.  Will generally focus most of the time on either picking or packing.  Shows new workers proper picking and packing methods. Operates order picker lift, and assists with more complex customer orders.

 



 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Picks and Verifies Product

-Picks products according to customer order pick lists, and verifies product codes and quantities to ensure the accuracy of customer orders.

-Visually checks products for quality to ensure the customer receives the highest quality product.

- Matches physical package count to pick list package count to assure the correct quantity of product was picked.

-  May operate power order-picking forklift to gather product stored in warehouse racking.

- Checks-off picked product on the pick-list according to established guidelines. Verifies picked product on TREND's pick list copy before packaging to cross reference previous verifications.

- Assists in the stocking of singles picking locations to ensure enough product is available to meet order demands.

- Processes orders at 90% or more of department standards; maintaining an error rate at or below department standard.

- Safely operates battery-powered order-picker.  Travels to various locations and levels within the warehouse.

- Ensures packages, pick lists, packing slips are clearly marked to indicate mixed contents and accurate identification markings.

 

 Packages Product / Shipment Documentation

-Determines accurate carton sizes to determine the most efficient shipper to use in the pack-out of product for customer orders.

-Verifies picked product to shipment packing slip while packing out order to ensure accurate picking.

-Consolidates product and reduces number of shippers required in order to minimize shipping and disposal costs to the customer.

-Stacks products according to weight guidelines to ensure damage control during shipment.

-Follows written and verbal instructions to ensure product is packed out according to customer requirements.

-Labels all shippers and packages with correct address, contents, product code identification, and quantities to ensure delivery as per customer specifications.

-Stacks product for truck shipment per established guidelines to ensure damage control during shipment.

-Determines cubic dimensions of shipment to ensure accurate shipping charges.

-Completes bills of lading to ensure correct shipment methods and billing.

-Performs invoicing of pick lists to ensure correct customer billing.

-Maintains daily record of lines processed according to department guidelines.

-Trains to operate TREND Parcel Manifest System to facilitate accurate shipping, expense and tracking.  Operates mailing equipment to ensure timely and accurate mail processing.

-Maintains consistent work output of 100% of department averages.

 

 

General Warehouse  

-Keeps work area and surrounding floor clean of empty cartons and/or packing materials.

-Assists Warehouse Coordinator with cycle counts and inventory discrepancy research, as requested. -keeps commonly used cartons stocked in work area.

-Stocks daily packing materials (fiber tape, scotch tape, brown box sealing tape, pencils, etc.)

-Assists with other duties and tasks such as ship confirm, UPS Belt, Work Coordinator, singles stocking, etc.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

-Flexibility to work overtime, as required.

-Ability to learn product components and structure in order to ensure the shipment of a quality product according to TREND guidelines.

-Ability to learn Parcel Manifest System in order to accurately process small parcel shipments.

-Ability to learn weight and measuring techniques in order to determine air/ocean freight and other shipping charges.

-Willingness and ability to become a productive member of the TREND team.  Practices a team-oriented approach to fulfill responsibilities.  Demonstrates respect for and compliance with TREND policies and procedures.

-Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers in order to compute delivery costs using weight measurements.

-Ability to effectively work under pressure in order to meet customer delivery deadlines.

-Skill in using a personal computer and related programs such as Parcel Manifest System or CRT in order to locate materials on the AS400.

-Ability to post and meter materials, copy data from one record to another, and verbally obtain basic information from others in order to record information on order forms, communicate with others and determine weight and costs of packages.

-Ability to exert up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently and 10 pounds of force constantly in order to move product and skids with boxes of product while picking and packing customer orders.

-Ability to push and pull in order to operate hand jacks.

-Ability to stand and feel items and see with far, near, mid-range, depth perception and color vision in order to analyze the product quality. 

-Ability to talk and hear in order to identify the horn of an approaching forklift and regularly communicate within a loud working environment.

-Ability to balance with a safety harness, stoop, crouch, reach, lift, walk, and grasp in order to pick product stored at various heights throughout the warehouse.

-Ability to pick, pinch, type, and perform repetitive motions in order to use the personal computer keyboard and process paperwork while maintaining product records.
