SUMMARY

Supervises and coordinates activities of production workers by performing the following duties.

?

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

?Projects a professional and positive image in appearance and character. The Supervisor is required to be committed to applying all of his/her energies to completing all tasks assigned to the shift. Must consistently demonstrate the ability to initiate, follow-through and lead by example in a team environment.Must consistently apply good judgment to plan and accomplish goals.Confers with the Manager after the cross-over has been completed to discuss any box carry-over and any special requirements tasked that day.Inspects boxes received to verify conformance to downloads and reports discrepancies.Ensures that boxes are scanned and distributed in a timely manner and that the production floor is maintained in an orderly state.Ensures that boxes flow correctly and are moved into dispatch in a timely manner. Performs a reconciliation of the work received by the shift and the work completed by the shift and accounts for all boxes.Audits end of shift documentation (Prep Log, Production Log and Time Card) of 10 pre-selected employees on a daily basis ensuring that ALL employees are audited at least once before repeating the cycle and emails results to the appropriate staff.Constantly tours the production floor to:Spot check employees to ensure they are correctly completing their prep logs and production logs.Ask and answer questions.Enforcing the rules regarding no cell phone use, no open containers at the workstation, no radios or CD players unless operated by batteries and listened to with headphones, etc.Assist employees with any difficulties encountered that will prevent them from meeting production standards.Ensure all employees are working at their assigned tasks in a productive manner.Ensure there are no safety hazards.Maintain order.Maintains a strong presence in all areas of the production floor.Promptly reports to the Manager any situations that may impede or delay the timely completion of the work assigned.Studies the days imaging requirements and applies / adjusts manpower resources for completion of job assignment.Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.Interprets customer requirements to workers, and assigns duties.Recommends establishment or adjustments to work procedures to meet production schedules.Recommends measures to improve production methods, machine performance, and quality of batches.Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of all work functions especially the preppers, scanners and QC personnel.Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.Takes attendance and submits report to the appropriate staff.Aware of the available inventory of expendable materials (paper, toner, staples, rubberbands, etc.) and informs the Manager when stock is low.Confers with Group Leaders to coordinate activities of individual shifts.Is knowledgeable of the activities performed by the workers he/she supervises.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises employees on the Production floor.? Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization?s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

?LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.? Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.? Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.? Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
