OH based CNC Milling Application Engineer needed

My client, one of the largest Machine Tool Builders in the world, is looking for an experienced Application Engineer to perform the following at their facility in OH:

 

Review and analyze various customer manufacturing requirements.  Execute turnkey projects ranging from single, stand-alone machine turnkeys to multi-machine, multi-million-dollar turnkey systems.  This position also supports the sales and marketing group as required.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1)  Work with all aspects of a turnkey project including tools, fixtures, NC part programming, machine delivery, prove-out and runoff of a customer's part typically at both Makino and the customer's facility

2)  Select outside suppliers for a turnkey project and negotiate price and delivery

3)  Responsible for creation of detailed documentation of a project including program listings, CAD tool and fixture drawings, definition of the process setup and operating procedures

4)  Provide process training (including machine options, programming, cell operations) at Makino and at the customer's facility

 

Qualifications:

1) Experts at processing parts for machining

2) Four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical area or 5 years or more related experience

3) Experience in a co-op, internship, full/part-time job in a manufacturing environment

4) Ability to present a professional image

5) Technical aptitude or knowledge and logical troubleshooting

6) Rational decision-making skill

7) Travel is around 25% but is sort of odd.  That 25% might happen all at once.
When the project goes to the customer, the A/E can be
there for 8-12 weeks at a time.

Knowledge of:

Procedures - Turnkey Operating Procedures must be followed

Policies - Corporate travel policy, confidentiality agreements with customers

Specialized techniques - Tooling designs, fixturing of parts

Legislation -

Professional disciplines - Manufacturing Engineering

Variety of knowledge and skill - tooling, fixturing, programming, CNC machine operation, general PC skills

Complexity of knowledge and skill - some processes are complex, some are not

Breadth of knowledge and skill - many materials and part type combinations

Depth and degree of knowledge and skill required

Speed of change of knowledge requiring updated knowledge

Uniqueness and availability of this knowledge - moderate availability

 

They will provide relocation.
