OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE IV (IND)

Tyco Electronics is the world's largest supplier of passive electronic components and a major producer of active components. Our plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina, is looking for a talented and motivated professional to join our team in the following position:

Quality Inspector/Layout Technician

Essential Functions:
-Supports manufacturing, quality engineering and production efforts in the development and implementation of quality systems.
-Performs inspection/dimension layouts per blueprints and/or engineering drawings.
-Acts as a technical resource to manufacturing and quality departments using different metrology tools.
-Interfaces with internal and external customers and suppliers for quality related issues.
-Performs GR&R studies.
-Trains and provides technical assistance to manufacturing and non-manufacturing personnel.
-Collects and compiles data used in trend analysis and performs basic statistical analysis as required.
-Assists in technical training of production personnel in all aspects of inspection.

Minimum qualifications:
-Technical degree or high school diploma/GED and equivalent work experience.
Experience with a fast paced QA inspection and manufacturing environment.
-Highly skilled and familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), ASME Y14.5M 1994.
-Knowledge of automotive capability requirements.
-Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 quality system and ISO 17025 standards and requirements.
-Skilled in problem solving methodology.
-Moderate computer skills including using and developing word processing, spreadsheet, database applications and SPC software packages.
