Operations Excellence Director

We seek an Operations Excellence Director to join our Operations Excellence (OPEX) team for our newly created ?Center of Excellence Department?. This position reports to EVP of Operations and has Cabinet level visibility.

 

The OPEX Director will act as the organizational leader of the Process Excellence deployment and act as an internal consultant.

 

This is the main leadership role in the implementation of Process Excellence at the business level including project selection, project leadership, and guidance of key team members.

 

The OPEX Director is a Change Agent responsible for leading the organization into a data driven, team-oriented culture that embraces continuous improvement within a six sigma environment, and ensures full OPEX implementation in all business functions.

 

Work with the business leadership to lead and guide all Process Improvement initiatives within the business. Work closely with the division management on OPEX process projects. Ensure ongoing education of all employees in OPEX initiatives, promoting a continuous learning environment, ensure that OPEX steering committee and teams are established, appropriate personnel are trained in and effectively implement OPEX principals, techniques, and methodologies.

 

The OPEX Director will make implementation and results a top priority and will regularly update the divisional leaders the organization?s implementation plan and progress. Empowers every employee through positive reinforcement of team oriented continuous improvement. Provides documentation of results and benefits achieved. Facilitates the sharing of best practices, methods and ideas across the organization.

 

Job Requirements:

- A minimum of a Bachelors degree in business, engineering, or related discipline is required. An MBA is preferred.

- Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certified required.

- A minimum of 5 years experience leading a Process Excellence environment

- A minimum of 8 years of management experience with at least 2 years of P&L responsibilities and a good understanding of financial measurements

- The incumbent must have a proven track record of successfully leading change initiatives including experience implementing Lean and Six Sigma concept to full implementation.

- The individual will have demonstrated ability to use and effectively instruct in the proper use of Six Sigma and Lean Principals such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Visual Factory, Just-in-time, Demand Flow, TPM, Continuous Improvement Process, DMAIC, as well as other statistical problem solving tools.

- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to effectively facilitate and communicate through encouragement, motivation and inspiration at all levels of the organization.

- MS office software skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word in addition to Minitab, MathCad, COGNOS and SAP.

- Bilingual a plus (English-Spanish)
