Operations/Production Manager
Owen Industries, one of the Midwest's largest Steel Service Centers is seeking an experienced Operations/Production Manager. Owen Industries is a full-line metals service center. We stock and process carbon and alloy steels. Processing capabilities include: flame, plasma and laser cutting, shearing, sawing, forming, machining, punching, welding, coil line and slitting. Qualified candidates must have 5-7 years of management experience in steel distribution, steel fabrication, or similar industry experience. Duties include responsibility for all aspects of production including managing day to day operations, scheduling and personnel. Excellent planning and organizational skills required. Must have working experience with ERP/MRP software system. Must be a self starter with good communication and team leadership abilities and be comfortable in hands-on fast paced manufacturing environment. Qualified candidates must have strong blue print reading skills. Basic knowledge of 'lean' manufacturing helpful. Bachelors degree in business, engineering or other technical field is requested but not required.
