We currently have a Optical Final Inspector career opportunity at our Columbus, OH location.

 

Job Purpose:

Ensures quality and Rx specifications are met by performing a proper Rx verification visually and with the use of a lensometer.

 

 Job Requirements

 

?  Maintains quality by Proofreading and comparing Rx forms for material and special services requested.

?  Maintains quality by Verifying power, prism, axis, PD?s of lenses.

?  Approves jobs to be shipped by Stamping or initialing Rx.

?  Maintains quality by directing all rejected jobs to Quality Control Supervisor.

?  Maintains lab reputation by Complying with ANSI standards.

?  Maintains technical knowledge by Reading new product information.

?  Maintains inter- and intradepartmental work flow by Fostering a spirit of cooperation.

?  Maintains safe and clean working environment by Complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

?  Maintains operations by Following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.

?  Contributes to team effort by Accomplishing related results as needed.

?  Maintains quality by performing a visual inspection of frames and lenses.

?  Maintains quality by Identifying and marking progressive lenses.

?  Ensures quality by Wrapping and packaging of Rx?s and supplying proper brochures and inspection cards.

?  Ensures quality by Distributing finished work to shipping and record job count.

?  Spotting SV lens to prepare them for layout.

?  Spotting axis lines on lens for tracing.

?  Using tools to adjust and shape frames when needed.

?  Learn layout and blocking skills to insure proper work flow.

 Job Qualifications

? High School Graduate or Equivalent.

? Basic math skills, good learning and memory skills.

? Able to work and communicate with others. 

? Knowledge of basic optical lab operations preferred.

? Basic understanding of optical terminology.

? Ability to multi-task, prioritize, organize.

? Maintains teamwork and workflow with all departments.

? Ability to use good judgment in order to maintain quality standards based on job knowledge.
