PES Continuous Improvement Specialist

Job Description   This is a highly visible position reporting to the Performance Enterprise System (PES) Director.  Position will provide hands on application of continuous improvement through the application of PES/Lean tools and methodology; will also help to identify and select Lean projects and lead Kaizen activities to further develop the continuous improvement culture throughout the organization.  This individual will work closely with the Lean Champion/PES Director and must possess good team building and communication skills as well as be able to build good rapport with people throughout the organization.  Some key responsibilities include: facilitation and administration of Kaizen improvement workshops; developing an understanding of core business model to eliminate non-value added activities; working with internal departments to access and implement the use of Lean Thinking; preparing and facilitating PES/Lean training workshops to ensure the rapid development of Lean tools throughout the organization; and serving as a core team member in assisting the PES office to develop tactics and project charters for process change.

 

Education

 

Required:  BS/BA degree or equivalent experience and 3+ years of experience in Lean/Continuous Improvement type role.

 

Desired:  BS degree in Industrial Engineering.

 

Other Qualifications

 

Required:  In-depth understanding and experience applying Lean tools and methodology including: 5S, Visual Controls, Value Stream Mapping, 3P, 7 WASTE (MUDA), Standard Work and Kaizen workshops.  Experience applying the Toyota Production System (TPS) methodology.  Computer proficiency with MS Project, MS Office Suite and Visio.

 

Desired:  Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment, deliver quickly and adapt to changing demands.  Candidate should be self-starter with the ability to motivate others as well as possess problem solving and facilitation skills.

 

Salary and grade level are based on knowledge and experience.
