PLANT SUPERINTENDENT

Job Description:
SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:  Directs and coordinates activities of the plant to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. ·  Plans, develops, and implements plant programs, policies, and goals. ·  Coordinates activities of production, maintenance, to effect operational  efficiency and economy. ·  Directs and coordinates implementation of new products. ·  Directs and coordinates the implementation of new manufacturing process or plant equipment. ·  Analyzes plant's budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made and for the allocation of the operating budget.  ·  Confers with other managers and reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes required in programs or operations. ·  Directs preparation of directives to other managers outlining policy, programs, or operations changes to be implemented.  ·  Responsible for all required paperwork and reports of the Plant such as: production reports, spoilage reports, maintenance reports, PO requisitions, etc. ·  Other duties, responsibilities, or roles may be assigned by the Plant Manager or Corporate Management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  ·  Manages subordinate Supervisors who supervise production employees. ·  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these areas. ·  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. ·  Responsibilities include: 1.  training 2.  safety of employees; 3.  planning, assigning, and directing work;4.  Plant housekeeping;5.  appraising performance (hourly and salary);6.  rewarding and disciplining employees;7.  addressing complaints and resolving problems.·  Will assume the duties of Plant Manager in his absence.  

Job Requirements:
Experience in a manufacturing environmentExcellent communication and computer skillsAbility to work with people, supervise and discipline while following the Union Contract and or Company/Plant policies.Ability to multitask and reprioritize
