We have an immediate opening in our Dayton, NJ facility for a talented and experienced Planner/Scheduler.  This position reports to the Plant Superintendent

 SUMMARY

 

Schedules machine operations and oversees and coordinates all production activity with sales, sales service, and shipping to insure that orders are being handled properly. 

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Schedule production machines in the most effective and efficient ways possible. 

 

Coordinate all production activity with sales, sales service and shipping to insure customers? orders are being handled properly.

 

Conduct scheduling meetings with various staff members to explain shipping deadlines, existing and/or new orders, and any outstanding issues or problems.

 

Interact with other company operations and external customers as required.

 

Manages stock level and waste control management via proper scheduling.

 

Comply with company policies and procedures.

 

Additional duties as assigned by management.

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED

Previous experience in a corrugated scheduling department and/or box plant operation a plus.

Computer literate

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret production reports, technical procedures, manuals, regulations, and codes.  Ability to write business reports and correspondence.  Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and outside company officials.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts related to production scheduling as well as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and volume. 

 REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and measurements furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
