Plant Manager
Top US company is seeking candidates for its talent pipeline. These initial highly visible roles are at the plant management level and are the step-into point for external talent to come in and grow. The manufacturing sites are located mostly in the Midwest US. Some are in rural areas where outdoor activities (hunting, fishing) are plentiful, some in more metropolitan areas. International opportunities exist also as these management positions have launched previous incumbents into global roles.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- develop and lead the plant staff. Coach them on personal and business development
- champion the continuing journey implementing Lean and Six Sigma
- be responsible for the plant's productivity drives, kaizen event activities, etc
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSME, BSIE or relevant technical BS Degree
- 10+ years plant/ operations experience with roughly 1/3 of that in a continuous improvement environment.
- Experience in a high volume / low volume high mix assembly of complex products that are make to order, engineered to order or similar non repetitive manufacturing. Experience could be with mechanical or electrical product.
- Successful track record leading manufacturing and distribution organizations
Preferable Characteristics:
- Six Sigma Certified, Black Belt or higher
- MBA
- Toyota Production System (TPS) or similar closely modeled system experience
