Plant Manager in Development

Tire Centers, LLC a wholly owned subsidiary of Michelin North America is a manufacturer of Retreaded commercial truck tires. TCI employs approximately 2,400 dedicated associates in 180 locations throughout the U.S.

The Plant Manager in Development will assist the Plant Manager and act as Plant Manager when the Plant Manager is away. While in training, you will learn the responsibilities of the Retread Plant Manager which include:

Mission:
? Reporting to VP Manufacturing, fully responsible for the Operation and Results of the assigned Retread Plant. Ensure that the plant consistently delivers high Quality product, within prescribed turn times at an acceptable level of productivity, while controlling costs.

Duties:
? Ensuring all product and work methods adhere to the Michelin Retread Technology (MRT) process standards as well as specific Customer specifications
? Attraction / Selection / Motivation / Training / Retention of all shop floor and support employees ? to agreed upon levels and at agreed upon wage rates.
? Reporting weekly production information to MRT as well as VP-Manufacturing. Ensure VP is kept current of significant issues that arise at the location (either positive or negative ? to do with product / service / employees / equipment / etc)
? Analysis of and corrective action for variances that occur within the realm of Plant operations
? Ensure optimization of costs and resources relative to level of incoming volume
? Ensure the Financial and Production reporting is accurate and properly allocated.

Work Methods:
? Direct involvement with the shop floor employees to ensure adherence to established work methods and product quality
? Strong Team player and interaction with local Distribution & Commercial groups to ensure that our customers? needs are addressed and issues resolved.
? Ability to use internal Computer reporting systems eg) ISST reports / end of Day reports / Bib Tread / Operating expense reports / AS400 / etc. to help determine plant performance.

Profile:
? Strong managerial / leadership skills
? Good planning skills in terms of stock of materials / shop floor production flow, etc.
? Basic computer literacy
? Strong communicator
? Flexibility to adapt working hours to plant situation and environment.

If you have a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field and 3+ years experience in manufacturing supervision and/or management, you may qualify for this great career opportunity.
