Plastic Injection Mold Designer

Our client is a QS9000 and TS16949 Certified Manufacturer of Engineered Systems Worldwide. An opening is currently available for a Plastic Injection Mold Designer at one of their Southern Indiana facilities.

 

A successful candidate will have an equivalent to five to ten (5-10) years experience in tool or part design, a working knowledge of molding and machining processes and be proficient in designing of plastic injection molds and/or plastic. CAD software experience required with Unigraphics software knowledge a plus.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will include mold design and layout based upon internal or customer specifications
Will be responsible for the design of new tools
Will be responsible for design in of customer requested Engineering Changes
Responsible for working with Purchasing to specify and order mold components
Will be required to be involved throughout the total manufacturing process on designs completed.
Must be a team player
Must have excellent communication skills.
Must be able to design for manufacturability.
Must be able to manage multiple projects with aggressive delivery dates.
Must be willing to train apprentices with appropriate software and part and mold design techniques.
