Plastics Engineer

We currently are seeking a team oriented, self starter to join our team as a Business Unit Engineer. The Business Unit Engineer will be responsible for the following:Represent Mayco Plastics to the customer engineering function, attending all customers? program meetings and reporting open issues in a timely manner.Schedule, manage and attend all program / APQP meetings within Mayco, using assigned resources to resolve open issues.Create/ manage an engineering program plan with Mayco Plastics team members that set timing and resources to satisfy the Advanced Quality Plan within the allotted budget and customer timing requirements.Create/Manage the timing charts and tracking documents necessary to follow the progress of each stage in the program plan.Report progress and resolution of open issues to Mayco Plastics departments and the customer.Directly follow:Product design activities.Transmission and exchange of technical informationConduct feasibility and design review.Provide technical and product assessment supports in new quotation development.Manage engineering changes for products and processes.Develop continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities through product and process development

 

BS in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics, or an allied technical field is required.  Preferred candidate should be trained in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)

 

 **Experience with Safety Restraints will be highly regarded. 

 

The qualified candidate will possess at least 5 years in automotive injection molded part design and one to two years in program management.

 

Preferred candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, competent PC skills, and will possess knowledge in the following areas:

1. Check fixture standards

2. Prototype and pre-prototype tooling

4. PPAP / GD&T
