Plating Manager

Our client is a leader in its industry. They are located in a beautiful area in central North Carolina and have a requirement for a Plating Department Manager. They will have the responsibility of managing between 20-25 hourly employees.

SCOPE OF POSITION:
Develop plating department budgets. Coordinate plating department priorities so as to maximize efficiency and minimize cost.
Propose and develop capital project justification and submittals involving the upgrade or improvement of plating facilities along with plant manager and engineering manager.
Supervise and direct plating department group. Utilizes knowledge of process control, electroplating principles, lab analysis, and good people management skills to promote teamwork within the plating department as well as other departments and groups.
Responsible for the plant environmental program, including all reporting to local, state, and federal environmental agencies.
Active participant in safety and quality programs.
Must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience and a strong background in electroplating, preferably experience in acid copper and/or strip plating in a production management environment. An engineering degree is a definite plus.
Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

B.S. Degree required and technical degree preferred.
Management experience and professional training.
Good communications skills, ability to work in team environment
Good problem solving abilities
Good organizational skills, and detail oriented
A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in a production facility
Team facilitating experience
Project Management skills
