Printing Technician

The Printing Technician is responsible for the accurate and timely printing and assembly of materials. He/she is responsible for the production cycle from receiving the job details at the Sun workstation to packing the finished materials ready for shipment. He/she is responsible for keeping track of supply levels and for conducting routine maintenance on the production machines.

The Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The Printing Technician operates the printers and the other machines involved in the binding and assembly of materials. Performs various duties such as selecting the correct paper and materials, gluing, drilling, and operating the binding and assembly machines.

He/she operates the Sun workstation to obtain job details and production scheduling information.

He/she is responsible for quality control of the finished items and must continually monitor the quality of the documents throughout the production process. He/she is responsible for the assembly of the materials. He/she operates the binding machines such as the Shrink Wrap machine, the Jogger Machine, the Drill Press and the Glue Station.

The Technician is responsible for the routine maintenance of the machinery and for ensuring supplies and service ar requested when necessary.

The Technician must monitor the level of supplies used in production and order those materials as necessary to ensure a constant and adequate supply of materials.

Experience: Up to two years experience in a high volume copy or print shop.
