Process Chemist

Currently we have an exciting, career growth opportunity available at our Charleston, SC facility for an experienced Process Chemist.

JOB SUMMARY:?
The process chemist is responsible for all process chemistry activities in the plant.? This includes safety, performance management, ISO procedures, management systems (PSSR, PHA, PSM), statistical reporting, quality reviews, product specifications, product scale up, plant trial, project manager for new product introduction, process improvements and technical support.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:?
??Support safety program to include safety activities in all aspects of the job.
??Provide technical assistance and process troubleshooting for all products and off grade product disposal for production managers and production and process engineers.
??Project manager for new product introduction into the plant to include NPRF form, lab scale up, revised MP/BS, QC test methods, product specifications, conduct pre and post plant trial meetings, PHA, PSSR, PSM, raw material evaluation, training and plant trials with emphasis on safety, reducing cycle time, number of adjustments and cost.
??Determine and implement process improvements to include NPRF form, quality reviews, lab scale up, revised MP/BS, QC test methods, product specifications, conduct pre and post plant trial meetings, training and plant trials with emphasis on safety, reducing cycle time, number of adjustments and cost.?
??Monitor and interpret statistical quality data to resolve production issues.? Provide quality reports as needed.
??Develop and support plant and lab instrumentation to improve quality.
??Act as main point of contact between production, sales and technical groups.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
??B.S. in Chemistry. Advanced degree desired.
??5 years related industrial experience.
??Knowledge of Chemistry and chemical engineering fundamentals related to batch and continuous operations, productions
?systems, ISO and lean manufacturing.
??Strong functional and technical skills, written and oral communication, planning and implementation, innovative, strong
?troubleshooting skills, analytical, organizational and self starter.
