Position Information:

Objective:

Guarantee the proper operation of plant process areas by optimizing resources to achieve the following objectives:

Quality

Customer service

People and equipment safety

Man hours and raw materials productivity

Environment

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Accomplishes human resource objectives for the following areas: raw material receiving, processing and environmental, health and safety by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.

 

Meets production operational standards by implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying and implementing continuous process improvements.

 

Guarantees the conformity of the products and make sure the resources needed to achieve this quality are in place.

 

Monitors production by reviewing daily shift production reports; provides explanations and corrective actions on variances and waste.

 

Guarantees the ISO9001 certification in the Unit.

 

Meets production financial standards by controlling and minimizing production

expenses.

 

Meets production financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

 

Maintains working relationship with union by complying with the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

 

Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations including environmental, health and safety.

 

 

Skills Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent

7+ years of Management experience

Proven track record of progressive leadership in the Food Industry

Emphasis in Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement

Experience in a Union environment

Good Organization and Communication Skills

Extrusion Experience a plus
