Production Control Planner

PRODUCTION CONTROL PLANNER

 

Precision Dynamics Corporation, located in San Fernando, California, currently has an open position for a Production Control Planner

 

In this position, the incumbent will be responsible for planning production from engineering documents in accordance with a master schedule and/or pull system.  Incumbent will also determine the specific operations to produce or rework all assigned parts or assemblies and lay out within the guidelines of the settings in the MRP II and/or Kanban system.  Successful candidate must be proficient in all production processes, equipment capability and materials to determine the appropriate processes, optimum sequences and understanding of the total process necessary to complete the part or assembly.

 

Additional responsibilities will include:

 

-Set-up, monitor and input information to control the scheduling of production using MRPII and/or Kanban.

 

-Plan inventory levels, schedule production, release work orders, coordinate priorities with customer service, coordinate jobs and priorities with manufacturing departments, audit departmental material movements, monitor all open work orders, schedule rework materials, and correct work orders.

 

-Coordinate material requirements with the Purchasing Department and Inventory Control, maintain up-to-date knowledge of enterprise software system, analytical review of data, verify that the necessary paperwork to support the build plan is present on the shop floor, and the ability to coordinate different tasks in the Production Control department.

 

-Schedule Engineering R & D machine time.

 

-Assigns materials to be cycle counted daily, weekly, etc. and corrects all errors.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

 

-Must have an APICS Certificate and a minimum of five to six years high volume manufacturing experience in progressively responsible positions.

 

-B.S. degree preferred

 

-Ability to coordinate and schedule different work centers

 

-Must be able to produce spreadsheets in Excel.

 

-Proven ability to work independently and assume responsibility.
