Assists in the operation of a mass production line of sophisticated printing and mail inserting equipment. Responsible for quality and accuracy of print and mail output.

High School Diploma or GED required with previous experience in a production or print/mail facility preferred.

The ability to operate a PC, or the ability to learn basic PC related operations with some level of technical aptitude preferred.

The ability to pay close attention to details.

The ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented environment with direct supervision.

Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 75 pounds.

With the development of our new data center/print facility, Progressive Insurance has the need for Production Mail Specialist Associates (aka Mail Inserter Operators). These positions support Progressive's new 24 x 7 Post Processing Automation (PPA) facility. The individuals selected for these positions will work 1st shift with specific hours still to be determined.

The specific function of the position is to operate Kern mail inserters to produce and prepare bulk mail. This position requires strong attention to details and a technical aptitude. Operators must be able to work holidays and weekends and rotate or float between shifts as necessary. Lifting up to 40 lbs without assistance and standing for the duration of the shift is necessary in this environment. High School diploma or GED required.

The Post Processing Automation (PPA) facility is scheduled to be in full production in early 2007 so all positions will have an effective start date of October 16, 2006 to accommodate 10 weeks of training.
