Production Manager

Holcim (US) Inc., one of the nation?s largest manufacturers and distributors of cement and mineral components, has an immediate opening for a self-starting, results-oriented experienced Production Manager at its plant in Birmingham, AL.  This individual is responsible for:

 

? Participating as a key member of the plant leadership team working to create a high-performance, results-oriented culture

? Overseeing creation and maintenance of a safety-conscious workforce including ensuring housekeeping is a daily priority

? Coordinating financial planning and budgeting processes for the Production Department

? Working closely with process and quality teams to provide leadership, guidance, and direction for plant operations in alignment with plant and company goals

? Providing leadership and technical expertise on process related issues

? Conducting and coordinating the Dialogue performance management process including review and/or development of evaluations and plans for all production staff to insure alignment

? Leading continuous improvement and optimization of all processes in the Production Department consistent with plant management systems and ISO standards

? Participating in community and public relations activities when necessary

? Vendor management in Production area, specifically outsourced quarry activities

 

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; advanced technical degree or MBA desired.  5-10 years cement manufacturing or related industry experience preferred.  Cement chemistry and process knowledge is required.  Strong computer skills required, including Excel, Word, etc; SAP experience is preferred.  The individual must understand both engineering and business principles and be team-oriented with ability to work constructively with others to reach consensus.
