Production Manager

Position Description:

The Medical Business of Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics uses technological expertise and market knowledge to meet increasingly diversified customer needs around the world. Saint-Gobain's newest member of the medical family is located in PORTAGE and boasts a state-of-the-art medical silicone molding and extrusion capability.

We are currently searching for a PRODUCTION MANAGER, who will be responsible for all day-to-day production activities at the Portage plant, including the manufacturing, assembly and warehouse areas.

The Production Manager will focus on and drive Safety, Production, Quality and Continuous Improvement Initiatives, and will direct the hourly production workforce via the supervisors reporting to this position.

Additionally, this position will have the responsibility for creating consistent practices and direction across all shifts in the 24/7 operations and must have the flexibility to work unorthodox hours to achieve this. These practices and direction will include communications, consistent management and leadership of the hourly workforce, plant initiatives, and policy implementation.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
? B.S. degree required with 5 years of progressive operational experience.
? Experience in the manufacture of silicone products required.
? Prefer customer-focused experiences.
? Requires strong leadership, managerial and supervisory skills, based on manufacturing operations experience.
? Requires the know-how to readily guide and support plant Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives.
? Requires effective oral, written and presentation communications skills.
? Requires 'problem-solving' and 'goal' orientations.
? Requires evident and effective interpersonal and team-building skills.
