Production/Operations Supervisor

Job Description: GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in the following areas of a manufacturing department; multi-level assembly, electronic card/system testing and quality assurance to attain production goals consistent with cost, quality and delivery requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TYPICAL FOR MOST POSITIONS:
1. Directs daily department activities in order to meet production goals.
2. Confers with management, production and marketing staff to determine manufacturing feasibility, cost effectiveness and customer demand for new and existing products.
3. Forecasts operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests.
4. Reviews and establishes material, equipment and manpower resource requirements.
5. Coordinates production activities with other functional groups such as planning and distribution.
6. Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function.
7. Responsible for the maintenance of manufacturing equipment, ensuring both preventive maintenance programs and repairs.
8. Administer safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees.
9. Generates productivity reports and other operations metrics.

Education / Experience
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires demonstrated leadership skills and a minimum of 1 years of operations or related experience.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Demonstrates operations and technical skills and understanding of Solectron's functional standards. Demonstrates working knowledge of functional concepts and a solid understanding of Solectron policies and procedures. Has awareness of the functional impact upon work processes and other functions. To perform the major job responsibilities the use of the following tools may be required: Inspection: components, measuring tools; Office Skills: telephones, data entry, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation package.
