Description & Responsibilities: 

?  The ideal candidate is a materials planning professional with a broad understanding of materials planning and new product introduction for a low volume, high mix production facility. The planner will be responsible for scheduling and monitoring the movement of material through the production facility and will work on a wide variety of complex planning activities where material requirements are new or variable.

?  The successful candidate will plan, prepare, and control production schedules and coordinate with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements; determine material requirements for engineering and production schedules; coordinate the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering; develop specifications for new contract orders.

?  The planner will advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed; schedule manufacturing orders for prototype lab; confirm material supply and demands; prepare work order or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirement; coordinate interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, etc.; schedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders.

?  The planner is also responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing relationship with suppliers and conducting audits. Travel to supplier and production sites is required as needed.

Education & Experience Required: 

?  Broad understanding of materials planning and new product introduction.

?  Ability to manage a variety of concurrent projects and coordinate manufacturing schedules to ensure timely project completion and delivery.

?  A high level of proficiency with ERP/MRP based material control systems.

?  A high level of proficiency with MS Office applications.

?  A Bachelors degree in Procurement, Materials Management, or Business Administration with 5 years of experience in production planning; or an Associates degree with 7-10 years of production planning experience.
