Our Exhaust Division is looking for a third-shift Production Supervisor for its plant at Toledo, Ohio.

 

The role of the Production Supervisor is to direct and coordinate team members in manufacturing-related activities. The Production Supervisor utilizes in an efficient manner his or her knowledge of safety, product technology, production methods, quality standards and procedures, associate involvement, teaming, and continuous improvement in order to meet company goals for quality, quantity, and customer service.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

? Review daily production schedule to plan work and personnel assignments.

? Provide leadership to and direct associates in performing their duties to ensure safety, cost, productivity, and quality standards; maintain adherence to company policies and good housekeeping practices.

? Anticipate and determine causes of delays in shift operations and take appropriate action to meet production schedule requirements; help inspect and analyze product defects.

? Conduct performance evaluations, recommend promotions, and take other personnel actions as need.

? Stimulate maximum efficiency and productivity of associates; promote teamwork to attain department objectives.

? Assure that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production.

? Assure that the appropriate production records are prepared, accurate, and entered into the system.

? Assure efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.

? Commit to the corporate goals, mission, and vision.

? Assist operators with daily production duties.

? Prepare for and assist with line changeovers.

? Train operators who are newly assigned to workstations, helping them attain quality and productivity standards.

? Check operation of auto-quality systems.

? Lead meetings and end-of-shift debriefings.

? Make and encourage improvement ideas and help implement them.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

? Must be able to adapt to heat in the summer and cold in the winter.

? Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and exert 25 to 100 pounds of force occasionally.

? Must be able to push, pull, stand, and walk; this job involves bending and twisting, and some reaching is required.

? High mental and visual efforts are required.

 



QUALIFICATIONS

All candidates must have the following qualifications:

? Bachelor?s degree in business, engineering, or a management-related field.

? Good working knowledge of ISO9000/QS9000 and ISO14001 requirements; knowledge of manufacturing methodologies.

? Ability to work with multiple software programs, including Microsoft Office.

? Experience as a supervisor and/or team leader.

? Good problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.

? Excellent interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, confidentiality, and the ability to communicate well with employees at all levels.

? Planning, team-building, and coaching skills.

? Willingness to work third shift.

? Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background/reference check.
