Production Supervisors

 

I.  JOB SUMMARY:

 

  Responsible for the efficient operation of the production facility during a given shift to meet the company?s quality and cost goals.  This position is responsible for meeting quality, production, shipping and cost requirements for one shift.  Provides information and guidance to the Group Leaders and other key support personnel including technicians, materials, and quality functions on the shift.  This position will also be available to perform selected assignments as directed by the Vice-President/General Manager.

 

 

II.  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

 

1. Maximize the use of personnel to ensure the production of quality products at the lowest cost.

2. Assures the optimum production of each piece of equipment in terms of quantity and quality.

3. Meets the requirement of the production schedule by coordinating materials, personnel, maintenance and Quality Control.

4. Assigns personnel to specific machines and work stations.

5. Ensures a smooth transition between shifts by communicating the status of all equipment, batches, change-overs, staffing, quality alerts and production against schedule.

6. Minimizes change-over times between products, batches and labels by anticipating all changes and assuring all the necessary steps are completed in the shortest time possible.

7. Assigns personnel break schedules.

8. Maintains the production areas in a high state of cleanliness and sanitation.

9. Organizes, trains and coaches subordinates.

10.  Positively motivates subordinates and supports company policies and shift goals fostering flexibility and team spirit.

11.  Maintains an effective absentee control program.  Review employee absentee calendars monthly and takes action which is required by the attendance policy.

12.  Assures proper wearing of safety glasses, ear protection, belts, and other safety equipment as required.  Proactively maintain a safe work environment.  Reports and investigates all accidents in a timely fashion.  Responsible for first aid and seeking medical attention for all injured employee.

13.  Maintain operations in compliance with SOP, GMP, FDA, and product quality standards.

14.  Actively contributes to the company cost reduction and continuous improvements via team or project assignment.

15.  Prepares and administers performance appraisals following approval by Production Manager and other levels of management as required.

16.  Resolves subordinates time, attendance and payroll issues with Human Resource Manager and Payroll Dept.

17.  Prepares the necessary documentation and administers progressive disciplinary following approval of Production Manager and Human Resource Manager.

18.  Perform other duties as assigned.

 

III.  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

  BA/BS and 0-3 years supervisory experience or 4-10 years supervisory experience in a regulated product environment. Excellent written and oral communications skills.  Knowledge of basic math skills.  Ability to create and maintain Word & Excel documents.
