G-P Gypsum Corporation, a subsidiary of Georgia-Pacific, is a leading manufacturer of gypsum wallboard products in North America. Responsibilities

Savannah Gypsum is expanding and needs knowledgeable and experienced candidates who can add value to our team in the Production Team Leader position. Candidates desiring consideration for the above listed position should act as coach, resource and leader to all production teams. The Production Leader II will manage teams of 11-15 production personnel in the areas of safety, performance management, attendance, vacations and training. Additional responsibilities include interacting with maintenance, distribution and engineering teams to identify and implement improvement projects. The Production Leader II must be able to foster a team environment and support process goals. The candidate must be proficient in safety policies and procedures, positive employee relations, environmental knowledge with a mechanical aptitude. Demonstrate leadership skills and comply with Guiding Principles.

 

Experience

3-5 yrs experience; HS/GED required. Bachelor's Degree Preferred.

 

Knowledge, Experience, Knowledge

Strong working knowledge of the Gypsum manufacturing process is preferred. Machine experience will be rated according to demonstrated skill levels. Any other managerial skills will be considered for evaluation. Quality specifications; Lab testing; Drying and profiling; Paper specification; Calcinations; Formulations (Wet and Dry Additives); Board making; Gypsum manufacturing knowledge a plus. Problem solving, written and oral communication, and project management skills. Ability to work across organizational functions. Organize and lead teams or meetings effectively and safely.

 

Gypsum experience preferred. (Must be able to work a shift schedule.)
