Project Engineer-Thermoforming

Role

 

The Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating and integrating activities across multiple, functional lines.  Responsible for directing the technical development of projects including managing the technical personnel assigned to this development.  The Project Engineerr is to manage and control company resources on given projects focused around established budgets and schedules, and within performance requirements.  This should all be accomplished through good customer relations, both internal and external.   Responsibilities

 

?  Program boundaries are clearly defined, from receipt of customer purchase order for a new projects (or program assignment) or change to existing product requirements to ISIR or PPAP approval.  The Project Engineer will provide a support role, from initial customer contact and new product proposals through initial production and throughout product life cycle.

?  Provide necessary program direction for planning, organizing, developing and integrating the engineering effort, including the specific objectives, schedules and budgets for assigned projects.

?  Provide technical leadership for analyzing and establishing requirements, preliminary designs, designing, prototyping, tooling and testing of assigned programs.

?  Divide work into discrete and clearly definable tasks.  Assign tasks to technical personnel within the project teams area of responsibility and other organizational units. 

?  Define, negotiate and allocate budgets and schedules according to specific tasks and overall program requirements.

?  Measure and control cost, schedule and technical performance against program plan.

?  Report deviation from program plan

?  Refocus and redirect the development effort if contingencies occur, such as best utilizing the available resources toward the overall program objectives.

?  Plan, maintain and utilize engineering resources to meet the long-term program objectives.

?  Customer interface and relationship building

?  Office systems software  (CAD, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations,  Projects, ERP system etc.)

 Experience/Education

 

?  Bachelors degree in Engineering

?  Five years engineering/management experience

?  Program, product and project management experience

?  Excellent Thermoforming Background
