Retrotech Inc, is looking for the right individual with strong Mechanical and Electrical skills.  This person would be in charge of ensuring that the project is completed on time and on budget. Strong problem solving skills and a ?can do ?attitude is a must.  Retrotech is a nationally recognized leader in Automated Warehouse and modernizations. The main job of the Project Installation Site Manager is the installation and coordination of all site specific duties for a successful implementation of material handling systems at customer site throughout North America.

 

Reporting Structure:

The Site Manager/Liaison reports to the Project Team Leader while on site.

 

Salary Structure:

The Site Manager/Liaison will classify Salary II (straight time paid for hours over 40 while in the field).

 

Requirements:

Ability to travel and remain on job sites up to 90% of time throughout North America. Duration on site is usually 30 days before a trip home is scheduled.

Solid mechanical skills are a must.

Solid electrical skills are a must.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

This individual must be able to operate in a team environment and communicate clearly to the intended audience.

This individual has to have the knowledge/experience to recognize when problems surface and when problems are looming, and bring the correct people together to solve these problems.

Protect the interests of Retrotech when dealing with customers and vendors.

Must be comfortable working at elevated heights.

Ability to move about the job site and conduct duties as assigned.

Bachelors Degree in Project Management/Engineering

 

Job Site Duties:

 

? Work with Retrotech project manager and team members to supervise the installation of material handling system.

? Have direct responsibility for the site budget and costs.

? Coordinate, identify and verify all shipments to the job site.  Schedule all equipment unloading around the customer plant operations.

? Coordinate the project scheduling and provide weekly reports to the project manager.

? Set up and maintain a Retrotech field office during the site operation and start-up process.

? Coordinate and keep accurate receipt of all material deliveries.

? Manage site labor hours, approve time sheets and schedule work.

? Conduct weekly safety meetings.

? Understand mechanical and electrical drawings and be able to make decisions on site.

? Do inspections while the contractors are working.

? Set up and manage sub-contractors effectively.

? Be flexible in hours and times that need to be worked.

? Work with the customer with the best interests of Retrotech and the customer for proper installations.

? Troubleshoot any problems that arise through all phases of the project.

? Have a basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical and controls.

? Able to work with team members from Retrotech and help coordinate all activities.  Work with each department and help them coordinate when and what, when and who needs to arrive at the site and at what time.

? Know when something is not right even when you were told not to worry about it.

? Look ahead to upcoming events and coordinate and/or order supplies needed to complete these activities.

? Schedule personnel to and from the site during critical times throughout the project.

? Possible travel 100% of the time.

? Able to relay correct and detailed information to main office.

? Responsible for customer relations while on the job site.

? Responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient job site.

? Support customer acceptance phase of projects.

? Train the customer in equipment operation and maintenance.

? Ability to safely climb ladders and navigate narrow elevated catwalks.

 

Software Application Knowledge (Willingness to learn any of the following a must)

Desktop software- Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects and Outlook

Operating Systems- Windows NT and 97

Symix Business System

 

In-house Duties:

Support the Engineering and Manufacturing/Field Installation Departments

Mechanical Assembly

Inspection of vendor supplied weldments and machined parts

Electrical Assembly

Preparing shipments to project sites

 

Salary: $60 to $80K
