Project Manager - China Liaison

Our client is a QS9000 and TS16949 Certified Manufacturer of Engineered Systems Worldwide. They have asked us to confidentially identify a Project Manager, reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations. This position will be responsible for working with customers and manufacturing to deliver injection molding tools on time and to customer requirements.  In this role, you will be a team member in an organization that supports global manufacturing locations in China and North America, so experience working within this environment and foreign language skills are necessary to the success of this position.

 

The position responsibilities include:
Working with manufacturing and customers to develop and track complete job scope
Performing project risk management 
Work directly with the customer to determine and manage technical aspects of product validation including tool and part design consulting, internal and external tool design reviews, external and internal sampling feedback, and tool acceptance
Manage and communicate all product information and product changes to all departments to assure that all concerned parties are well informed regarding the status of the project
Work closely with project engineer and other team members
Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring projects
Provide formal and informal feedback to the project team and functional management to continually improve project effectiveness
Manage communication with customers, project budgets and project time line


Minimum Qualifications:
Formal project management experience and training
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration
5+ years experience in injection mold manufacturing or injection molding operation
Foreign language and experience working with overseas suppliers, specifically China
Ability to anticipate and solve problems
Excellent organizational an interpersonal skills
Must be able to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail
Must demonstrate proficiency in MS Project or equivalent project management software
Must have working knowledge of 3D modeling software, UG preferred, Pro-E is a plus
