Project Manager, Manufacturing

Project Manager Fractionation provides business and technical leadership for major changes or enhancements of processes or services for Fractionation Business Unit and across business units. The Project manager is accountable for overall project performance including, integration of project activities, liaison for senior management, R&D and other stakeholders, project resources and financial achievement. He/She will sell complex ideas and concepts to ensure funding for the objectives established by the Business Unit.

1) Provides clear direction on project requirements to meet expectations of customers and stakeholders.

2) Leads in defining project strategies, developing goals, assigning project tasks and ensures goals are met.

3) Interacts and reviews project and tasks with all levels of management.

4) Sets the project strategy, schedules, resource alignment and financial analysis if required.

5) Suggests and approves deliverables for project completion.

6) Provides technical support in all phases of product manufacturing or process changes.

7) Anticipates and resolves conflict situations in a win-win outcome.


Qualifications

Must be well versed in Project Management tools and must possess knowledge of related disciplines.
Must have practical experience with Lean manufacturing tools
Must have working experience in the pharmaceutical or biologics industries.
Must have knowledge of cGMPs, FDA guidelines and purchasing practices.
Must be self-motivated, have good interpersonal skills, capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience, as well as, project management tools. Ability to manage multiple cross-functional tasks simultaneously.
Ability to design and implement projects/studies outside area of expertise.
Must demonstrate strategic leadership, strong financial acumen, and proficient supervisory skills.
Display ability to communicate effectively.
Bachelor's degree in scientific field. M. Sc. or MBA preferable.
In addition a minimum of 10 years in process or product development or manufacturing experience required and five years project management experience in the pharmaceutical or biologics industries.
Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.
In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.
Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body.
No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the work environment.
Will work in a cold, wet environment and climb up and into large processing tanks for cleaning.
Will be working in a loud area that requires hearing protection and other protective equipment to be worn.
Will work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and celite that may require respiratory protection.
May be required to work or be assigned to a different shift as needed.
May be required to work in a confined area.
Inside working conditions.
Some Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions.
5% travel.
