Purchasing Agent-Contract

Purchasing Agent needed for 6-12 months in Newark, DE, paying $32 per hour to work new product development group. Primary duties are to identify new suppliers to meet engineering technology needs, the addition and management of new suppliers, procure parts and services for instrument feasibility work and prototype builds. Will also be responsible for the transfer of procurement responsibilities, supplier management, supply contract negotiation and strategic procurement activities. SOME TRAVEL IS REQUIRED. Position requires a Bachelors
Degree in a technical field with a combination of 5-10 years experience in the technical and procurement area. Strong working knowledge and practical experience in technical understanding and/or purchasing of key commodities such as machining processes, castings, plastic processing (injection molding, thermoforming, and structural foam) is required. Knowledge of electronics, printed circuit boards, PC?s, software, cable and wire harnesses is desired. Experience in supply contract creation and development is required. Must be self-managed and work with minimal supervision. Strong organizational and communication skills required. Must have demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Good team facilitation, presentation, leadership and managing skills required. Must have demonstrated computer proficiency in MS Office applications and knowledgeable in MRP systems.
