Purchasing Engineer

Ashley Furniture is the  largest furniture manufacturer in the United States with 2.7 billion dollars in annual sales. Due to continuous growth, we have an immediate opening for a Purchasing Engineer at our Arcadia, WI facility. 

The Purchasing Engineer will work with product design and purchasing to develop compnents through engineering drawings, mock-ups, the initiation of Engineering Introduction Order first run, and all cost reduction methods throughout product lifecycle until the product is discontinued.



Manage the engineering processes throughout the components lifecycle having a direct impact on 1) Product margins, 2) Product Speed to Market, 3) Product life cycle, 4) Product ease of assembly.



Also directly impacts: 1) Product introduction issues, 2) Product detail, 3) Assembly standard issues, 4) Fabrication standard issues.REQUIREMENTS

Must have knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes, 3-D modeling, and Solids Modeling software/ CAM software. Position requires effective time management & organizational skills; working independently as well as in team environment; effective interpersonal communication skills; analytical & problem solving skills; maintaining confidentiality; handling multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints; proficiency in MS Office Suite, MRP, Internet use; and responding professionally in situations with difficult employee/vendor/consumer issues or inquiries.
