Job Summary

 



The QRC Technician Position requires in depth knowledge of all Peerless products and a working knowledge of repair capabilities.  This position also requires the ability to assemble, disassemble, inspect, test, paint, and modify pumps, pumping equipment and accessories and to diagnose problems with pumping equipment and accessories.  This position requires machining capabilities including but not limited to welders, presses, mills, drills, grinders, lathes and other machines needed to repair or rebuild any and all pumps, pumping equipment and accessories.  This position may require field service and customer service abilities and the ability to provide outside service to the local market.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

?  Set up and operate machine tools and/or fabricate component parts needed to repair or rebuild any pump, pumping equipment and accessories.

?  Assemble, disassemble, align, adjust, inspect and repair all engineered horizontal and vertical pumps.

?  Plan sequence of operations and prepare bill of materials as needed to complete assignment.

?  Move material as needed.

?  Check components for suitability of use.

?  Mount pumps and other accessories and components using mechanical fasteners and welding.

?  Knowledge of Peerless products, applications, troubleshooting and diagnosis of pumps and pumping equipment.

?  Skills required to service pumps and pumping equipment in the field.

?  Customer service skills needed to provide a positive image of Peerless Pump while providing local field service.

?  Ensure the jobs are compliant with quality programs.

?  Perform welding, drilling, tapping, fitting, filing, polishing, reaming, countersinking, painting and adjusting, cutting, mounting and leak repair.

?  Set up, prepare and help perform hydraulic tests and record results.

?  Receive, store and retrieve material.

?  Basic computing skills.

?  Maintain a professional image and portray self and company in the best possible light.

?  Maintain work area in neat orderly fashion.

?  Make performance and run test setups for pumps and pumping systems.

?  Knowledge of electrical and mechanical connections.

?  Undertake other duties as required.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Mechanical, field service or machining background and/or 5 years experience in a technical or engineering role.
