QUALITY LEADER DURABLE GOODS MANUFACTURING
Our well-established, profitable, and growing client is a subsidiary of a multi-billion dollar manufacturing conglomerate located in an attractive Los Angeles suburb. Value Stream Leadership is retained to identify a currently employed, lean thinking, manufacturing quality leader to develop and lead internal/external quality systems/processes improvements directed at customer growth and satisfaction.
This role is an ideal opportunity to unite and integrate sophisticated quality methods/practices with current and future state Lean/6Sigma business transformation implementation initiatives. Additionally, we seek a candidate who can move beyond a Quality Leader role to a Plant or Division operations leadership role at this company or the Parent organization. For that reason, candidates with quality and production operations experience are preferred.
The selected candidate will manage a professional and technical staff in a high volume, low mix production environment. Primary duties include: Enhance and maintain quality systems integrity and sophistication Perform quality audits and initiate corrective actions to resolve issues Develop and implement enterprise wide process, procedures, instructions, and performance reporting improvements per ISO 9000-9001 standards. Act as primary quality liaison for customers and suppliers ensuring fact-based approaches to addressing and resolving key issues. Review and scrutinize customers' new product requirements, and ensure that requirements can be met before the acceptance of purchase orders. Provides front-line support to all functional managers for problem solving and root cause identification, as related to both internal & supplied product issues. Utilize DMAIC methodology to resolve and maintain process variation and material/product defects Partner with the site Lean Manager in identifying improvement opportunities and coach, mentor, and develop/lead cross-functional quality systems training.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS B. S. degree in engineering or metallurgy
? 10 years progressive quality engineering experience. Experience to include a minimum 3 years as a quality manager in a durable goods manufacturing environment. Additional direct experience in production operations is preferred.
Thorough knowledge of ISO 9000-9001 quality standards and data requirements
? Experience leading/implementing standardized quality initiatives in a unionized workforce environment required.
? Experience and strong competency with SPC and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis is required. Lean/TPS tools application experience required: Jidoka, visual management, value stream mapping, standardized work, and 5S6Sigma experience required. Green/BB highly preferred.
Demonstrated leadership, project management, problem-solving skills, team building, and effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
Desirable Requirements:
Certification by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as a Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, and/or Certified Quality Manager
