Philip Morris USA, a global leader in the manufacturing and marketing of consumer products made for adults, seeks a qualified Analytical Technician to join our Manufacturing Department in Richmond, Virginia.



The responsibilities of this position will include:


Leading day-to-day shift analytical activities

Completing all required Quality Management System documentation

Performing routine troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation

Acting on changes as needed (e.g., additives) in the process and disposition of out of specification product Category 3

Reviewing SPC charts and shift data for trends/accuracy

Making corrections or recommendations to production personnel

Utilizing expertise for personnel development as well as supporting and demonstrating behaviors associated with the PM Values

Qualifications
Qualifications include:


Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Biology (preferred) or equivalent skills demonstrated through 4+ years experience (including Algebra and Chemistry)

Excellent demonstrated oral & written communication skills are required

Working knowledge of sheet tobacco process & wet lab procedures, statistical concepts (i.e., control chart theory/application, cause & effect relationships, trend analysis, etc.), computer software, & instrumentation (e.g., gas chromatographs, moisture meters) is preferred

Demonstrated skills in analytical testing & troubleshooting

Position requires climbing of stairs or ladders and working in production areas that are at times dusty and hot
