Quality Assurance Manager

Bennett Marine is the worldwide market leader in the production and sale of trim tabs for powerboats and other powerboat accessories.? We are located in Deerfield Beach (north of Ft. Lauderdale).? The company has been in business since 1960 and currently employs about 85 people in its manufacturing operation.

The QA manager is responsible for the quality management system and monitors and advises on how the system is performing. This includes the publication of statistics regarding company performance against set parameters. ?The job function covers all operational aspects of the company. ?This position will report directly to the Plant Manager.

Typical work activitiesWork methodically to establish a clearly defined system that all staff can apply; Promote quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization; Act as the key contact with customers' auditors and take responsibility for ensuring the execution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance with customers' specifications. Maintain a constant awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues; Assess both suppliers' and company?s product specifications and customer requirements; Work closely with purchasing staff in establishing quality requirements from external suppliers; Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation as applicable; Consider the application of environmental and health/safety standards; Agree upon in-house standards; Define procedures in conjunction with operating staff; Set up and maintaining controls and documentation; Pinpoint relevant quality-related training needs; Sort and analyze performance data and charts against defined parameters; Interact with other managers and staff, particularly in areas such as design, production and purchasing; Ensure tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary; Supervise technical staff in carrying out tests and checks; Write technical and management system reports; Bring together staff of different disciplines and drive the group to plan, formulate and agree upon comprehensive quality procedures; Persuade sometimes experienced and reluctant staff to change their way of working to incorporate quality methods; Review customer returns and warranty items for corrective action and containment.

Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements:At least five years experience managing a quality management system in an ISO environment.Experience managing, tracking, and communicating multiple projects.Experience with SPC/SQC; Training in Six-Sigma methodology.Competency with Microsoft Office applications.Strong written and oral communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with others.Capable of attention to detail with ability to prioritize workload.Ability to read part drawings and experience with GD&T.Experience with the creation of APQP, FMEA, and Control Plans.Experience with root cause determination and failure analysis.
