Quality Assurance Supervisor

Quik-to-Fix Foods, located in Garland, Texas, a wholly owned subsidiary of Smithfield Foods, is a leading producer, marketer and distributor of value-added beef, pork and poultry products for the retail and foodservice industry. The company's products are marketed primarily under the Quik-to-Fix and Gorges brands.  Customers include major retail grocery chains, as well as numerous foodservice distributors.

 

Quality Assurance Supervisor

 

Responsibilities for this position include:

 Supervise, hire, train and monitor the performance of Quality Assurance Technicians. Assist in the implementation, revision, and monitoring of HACCP, SAPs, and GMPs to comply with customers, company, and USDA food safety requirements. Assist in Food Safety audits and conduct monthly plant audits. Provide frequent quality realted training to management staff and plant personnel. Responsible for implementing quality assurance programs and regulatory policies. Coordinate the monitoring of the condition of the facility and employee compliance with GMPs. Determine the disposition of products and ensure proper record keeping for products with quality issues. Interact with customers, suppliers and departments within the organization to discuss and resolve quality issues. Implement and monitor Total Quality Control program. Investigate customer complaints. Assist with customer sanitation and quality audits. Liaison with USDA, FSIS inspectors and USDA AMS grading personnel.

 



Work experience requirements:

? Proficiency in basic computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, etc.

? Strong oral an written communication skills.

? Experience in quality related areas such as statistical analysis, sanitation, mathematics, micro biology, and industry practices a plus.

? Advance mathematical skills. 

Education Requirements

?  Four year college degree required in Food Science or a related field with three years experience in food industry or M.S. degree in a related field with 1-2 years of experience.

?  HACCP training preferred.
