Quality Engineer
Compass Aerospace Northwest, a division on Synchronous Aerospace and a leading aerospace manufacturer, has an opening for a Quality Engineer for their Military Programs, at their Kent, Washington facility.
The Quality Engieer, reporting directly to the Program Director, will develop, implement and coordinate product assurance program to prevent or eliminate defects in products by performing the following duties - other duties may be required.
Review and approve manufacturing plan sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of product, ensuring they meet the customer engineering and quality requirements
Analyze process capability and coordinate improvements with manufacturing
Generate and publish product acceptance charts (internal, customer and supplier), as assigned
Evaluate supplies to ensure quality standards are maintained/control ASL for program
Handle audits with customers (process and product)
Contingency responsibility for Quality Manager
Handling of MRB process for customers assigned
Handling of Cause and Corrective Action for customer assignments
Maintain an ISO 9001:AS9100 Quality Management System
Support QE elements with other programs as required
Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities The Quality Engineer may supervise 1-3 employees in Quality Planning. May carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 3+ years aerospace Quality Assurance (Quality Engineer or Quality Auditor) experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in an aerospace environment preferable. Parts inspection experience a plus.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Computer Skills
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, Outlook.
MS Project a plus
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
ASQC CQE and/or CQA preferred
Other Skills and Abilities
Understanding of AS9100 Quality System requirements
