The Regional Safety Manager will work with the Regional Operations Leadership Team, site Safety and HR Managers, and site leadership to drive continuous safety improvement and achieve the goals of Operational Excellence, including Safety Excellence. This position drives the on-going implementation of the Groups SMART safety process and assists operations in their quest to achieve OSHA's VPP certification. Works to develop optimal employee engagement and management commitment in our safety processes. Provides leadership and direction to the Region's Safety and HR professionals to ensure they have and are using the tools necessary to reinforce Safety as a core value. Provides support and assistance to the Region's Safety professionals in the area of career and professional development. Works with site Safety Managers and operations management to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Assists in the preparation of capital budgeting for safety, health, and property protection projects.
Minimum 8-10 years of proven professional safety experience, including work with safety and health management systems such as OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) and employee-driven, behavior-based safety processes. Chemical industry experience preferred. Should be familiar with OSHA's Process Safety Management (PSM) standard and the EPA's Risk Management Plan (RMP). Proven success with driving employee involvement and participation in a safety process. Demonstrated presentation and training skills.
Bachelor?s degree in occupational safety or other related technical field. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
