Research Technician - Chemist

 

The Research Technician - Chemist will work closely with the NanoMaterials R&D team to perform synthesis, pilot and large scale processing, and analysis in support of Zyvex?s NanoMaterials production, specifically for the process development of polymer and carbon nanotube functionalization.

 

Educational Requirements

BS in Organic Chemistry, MS preferred.

 

Required Experience

At least 2 years experience in organic synthesis and process development

 

Required Skills

Familiarity with organometallic chemistry and ability to work with moisture/oxygen sensitive chemicals

Knowledge of analytical instrumentation related to laboratory applications (e.g., HPLC, FTIR, UV, and GC/MS)

Experience in process optimization and scale up a plus

Experience in polymer synthesis a plus

Knowledge of applied statistics a plus

Materials manufacturing experience a plus

Experience in Design of Experiment a plus

Fluently speak, read, and write English

Must be able to work to a deadline

Knowledge of computer based spreadsheet programs

Exercise reasonable judgment (without supervision)

Detail-oriented

Organized

Self-starter
